Comfrey is a deciduous perennial renowned for improving soil health, its nutrient-rich foliage can provide the raw material for use as a garden fertiliser or to help make high-quality compost. It is also a plant much loved by bees and other pollinators, its pink, purple or blue tubular flowers blooming throughout the summer.
Comfrey is a vigorous grower so should be grown where it has room to spread, it is ideal for a wildlife or kitchen garden.
Easy to grow in most soils it prefers some moisture in sun or semi shade. Height and spread approx 1.5 metres.
