Chinese Foxglove or Rehmannia Elata, is a tall-growing herbaceous perennial with upright stems of exotic looking magenta pink flowers that have a speckled yellow throat. These trumpet shaped flowers resemble the flowers of Digitalis and give rise to the Foxglove common name though it is not related. It is very free-flowering from May to July and needs a sunny sheltered spot with fertile but free draining soil that doesn't get waterlogged in Winter. It will benefit from a thick mulch in the Autumn and protection from pests when young.
Height: approx 1.5 metre
