The common dandelion arrives as unwanted party crashers, soon dispatched like any common weed before their plumed seeds get a chance to escape to make yet more plants. However, this pretty variety really is pink, at least on the outer petals. Not a bright pink, rather a pale shade, with a somewhat subdued yellow coloration towards the center of the flower. It is identical to the common dandelion otherwise, so attention should be paid to where it is planted so it doesn't get yanked out. Will self seed if left to sow and will re-flower if dead headed. Ideal for wildflower gardens/areas and not routinely found in garden centres.
