Common toadflax, also known as 'Butter and eggs', is an easy to grow hardy native perennial that will thrive in a sunny position on well drained soils that are not too fertile. A great plant for pollinators and other insects, the pretty snapdragon like flowers are two shades of yellow and will bloom on their spikes from June till November.
In the wild,Toadflax can be found growing on roadsides and wasteland. However, it is also perfect in a wildlife garden or within a border where it will form upright clumps upto 50cm tall. Great for attracting wildlife - Bumblebees are the main pollinator.
Sow in Spring or Autumn either directly in their growing positions or in seed trays with a light covering of compost.
