The Truncata species has clearly segmented stem sections each with teeth shaped top edges. This variety has pink and white flowers which begin to form as buds around Christmas time on fully developed plants, hence the name. A lovely indoor plant which brightens up the Winter period, needing very little care and attention, preferring a semi-shadded spot and sparse watering.
Stem segments are know as epiphytes. The second picture gives an example of the size of the epiphytes you will receive - you will receive 3 per order.
To plant: Leave the cuttings to heal over (dry out) for a few days before potting up. They will have been in the post for at leas 24 hours so a further 1 - 2 days after receipt should suffice. Plant each stem up to 1" deep in a light perlite mix which has been thoroughly wet. They should be deep enough so that they stand up, compacting the soil around them slightly will help. Place in a light position out of direct sunlight and leave for a few months until new growth appears, which will signal health root development and the formation of a new plant. Water sparingly but do not allow to dry out.
