Lily of the Valley is well known for its white blossoms and delicate fragrance, making it a popular garden addition. Over time it will cover shady areas of ground or woodland, easily forming large colonies. Flowering stems have two leaves and a raceme of 5 - 15 flowers on the stem. Has previously gained the RHS award of Garden Merit and used to be used for its medicinal purposes as it was said to cure sore throats among other things. Highly poisonous in its raw form so not to be ingested.
