A large native plant which bears loosely branched stems bearing toothed or rounded long leaves and bright fresh dandelion like flowers from June to September. Ideal for the back of a herbaceous border, cottage garden planting or for wildflower areas and loved by bees and other pollenators. Edible, so leaves can be added to salads or used to produce a blue dye. The roots can also be used as a coffee substitute.
Prefers full sun in moist, well drained soil although they will tolerate some shade. Easy to grow with minimal maintenance apart from being cut down to ground level at the end of the season. Propagate by seed or by division in Spring.
Height: 100 - 150 cm Spread: 10 - 50 cm
