This is one of the smaller ornamental speciality varieties of Allium which blooms prolifically from late June. Commonly known as 'Nodding Onion' due to its droopy stem top which allows the flowers to hang and 'nod' in the breeze. Will gradually re-seed if left to sow.
Slender stems with grass like leaves which are usually retained throughout the year, although can be deciduous in colder areas. Ideal for border fronts and rockeries. Loves sun and not fussy on soils, can be poor and dry. Needs very little care and loved by bees and pollinators.
