Caltha are rhizomatous herbaceous perennials with simple, usually heart shaped leaves and cup shaped yellow flowers which make wonderful plants for moist soil sites and pond. This variety has bright yellow flowers borne during April and May. Prefers sun or part shade, forming pretty mounds of interesting foliage. Thrives in moist soils so ideal for a bog garden, pond edging or as a completely submerged feature (will grow at depths of 4").
