Pulsatilla is a lovely, early-flowering perennial best shown off in a rock garden or at the front of a border. A close relative of anemone, in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, they have lovely, simple flowers that are upright or nodding, in various shades, this variety is a pale pink colour. Blooms emerge with fine, divided leaves covered with silky hairs around the same time as primroses, to make an early splash of garden colour (Primroses listed separately). Later, the stems elongate and the plumed seed heads become another attractive feature.
Height: approx 30 cms including flower.
