A pretty perennial plant which adds a bright splash of colour early on in the Summer season, before most of the other types of Aquilegia. This variety is an old-fashioned plant which is ideally suited to any cottage garden or herbaceous border. Produces brightly coloured blooms on tall stems, sometimes known as 'Dove's at the Fountain' as the dainty flowers nod in the breeze. Good for cut flowers and loved by bees and other pollinators. Pretty pest free and requires little maintenance, only cutting back stems in the Autumn as leaves are semi-evergreen. Prefers full sun or partial shade.
