Sometimes known as the Wand Flower, Dierama matures into evergreen clumps of thin, sword like leaves with graceful arching stems rising above, covered in bell shaped blooms which sway in the breeze. This variety has the darkest flowers of any of the Dierama family in deep red-purple, followed by decorative round seed heads. This is a perfect perennial for a sunny border or container but needs adequate space to look at its best when fully grown. Prefers full sun or light shade. Flowers mid to late summer and good as a cut flower. Likes well drained soil. Hardy and will seed if left to sow.
Will reach a height of around 120 cm with spread of 30 cms after 5 years. Loved by pollinators so great for attracting bees and butterflies.
