Silene schafta is a great little plant for vibrant colour in late summer and into autumn. In Spring the semi-evergreen foliage starts back into growth, forming a neat mid-green cushion of small leaves. In late Summer the pretty rose-pink flowers emerge from short stems that orientate themselves towards the midday sun. This easy and compact Silene makes a lovely plant for a rockery or at the front of a border, grow in moderately fertile well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Trim over after flowering
